Mommy’s Little Girl by Frank Scoblete

On July 5th the young mother was declared not guilty by a jury of her peers. The circumstantial evidence was overwhelming but the jurors didn’t feel it was enough to convict this hard-partying mom to a sentence of death or life imprisonment for the death of her two-year old daughter who had been found duct tapped and decayed in a stinking, moldy, muddy grave.

The mother had been slapped on the wrist for continually trying to lie her way out of her predicament. That gave her an extra two weeks in jail before she breathed freely.

But now she was free.

She soon went back to her hard-partying ways but now she had several million dollars from her autobiographical book deal (a book that would be written by someone else) and the men were all lined up hungering to take her out and you-know-what her. What fun that would be.

And time passed as it always does and her case became a small incident in the big history of the world and most people forgot about it.

She was just now waking up from the anesthesia as she didn’t want to feel any pain this time. The nurse was standing there with a bundle in her arms.

"Here is you new baby girl," said the nurse, handing the bundle to the young mother.

The young mother took the bundle and smiled at the little baby girl who was sound asleep.

"What are you going to name her?" asked the nurse.

"Hayley," said the young mother. "I’ve always liked the name Hayley."
